By completing The Governance Institute’s Physician Group Practice Assessment, you have committed to a thoughtful review of your work as a physician group practice. The items which comprise the assessment have been structured to reliably measure your physician group's leadership against recommended governance practices. This report presents the assessment findings, representing how your physician group perceives its overall performance.


The results measure your board’s performance against 62 recommended governance practices, one overall effectiveness item, four overall rate items, and two open-ended questions. One or more of the recommended practices may not be applicable to your practice—depending on your board culture, the way you prefer to do business, and the way you prefer to do your board work. You will want to discuss these results as a board and determine what should or should not apply to your organization.
