District and health authority public hospitals are an important component of Governance Institute membership. Organized under a range of legal and corporate structures, many aspects of public hospital governance are unique to this particular group of organizations. But beyond their unique constraints, public hospital boards serve to ensure a high quality of care and the safety of their patients and community residents. As such, many of the responsibilities of public hospital boards overlap with those of independent non-profit healthcare boards. The resources below were created specifically for public hospitals. These resources are available for members only. For membership information, click here.
