August 1, 2016 (Lincoln, NE) – The Governance Institute, a trusted, independent partner serving not-for-profit hospital and health systems in the United States, announced that it has been granted Joint Accreditation. This status offers organizations the opportunity to be simultaneously accredited to provide medicine, pharmacy, and nursing continuing education activities through a single, unified application process, fee structure, and set of accreditation standards.
As a Joint Accreditation provider, The Governance Institute and its parent company National Research Corporation, now offer educational events with continued education from the combined governing bodies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Accreditation Program (ANCC).
“This accreditation solidifies the high standards and proof of excellence The Governance Institute strives to achieve for all healthcare organizations we serve,” says Jona Raasch, CEO of The Governance Institute. “We are proud of the amazing work our members are doing in their communities, and are pleased to provide more educational opportunities to help them advance in their missions.”
Through a rigorous set of criteria, The Governance Institute displayed a commitment to providing interprofessional, collaborative continuing education to healthcare teams across the nation. Joint Accreditation establishes standards for education providers who deliver interdisciplinary CE supporting collaborative care, which has been identified as a necessary component to the improvement of healthcare. Currently, there are only 36 organizations in the world that have received this distinction from the three global leaders in accreditation of healthcare continuing education.
