The Governance Institute’s Fall 2011 System Invitational in Washington, D.C., brought together a distinguished group of faculty and attendees from eight health systems to discuss critical issues facing their organizations.
The meeting explored reasons physicians change their attitudes, behaviors, and practices; reviewed approaches for engaging physicians in leading change; discussed how CEOs, boards, and physician leaders can successfully partner to achieve clinical integration and drive change; and reviewed the importance of trust and strategies for building it with key stakeholders. This report summarizes the key messages from the presentations and discussions that took place at the meeting.
