The Governance Institute hosted its third invitational forum in which CEOs, board chairs, trustees, and other leaders of pioneering health systems came together to discuss the critical issues facing large systems as they seek to achieve peak performance. Entitled Governing and Managing in a Fish Bowl, the session featured facilitated discussions on the most important challenges and opportunities facing health system leaders as they attempt to govern and manage in an environment where their performance is increasingly available for all to see. The meeting focused on the sharing of best practices and other key takeaway lessons on the following issue areas:

  • Physician relations
  • Quality and safety
  • Public accountability and earning tax exemption
  • Balancing margins and growth
  • Achieving systemwide culture and brand
